         Mint a bevezetésben említettük a sorbanállási elméletben használatos módszerek hatékonyan alkalmazhatók más területeken is. Mindenfajta kutatás és oktatás elképzelhetetlen jól felszerelt könyvtárak nélkül. Elengedhetetlenül szükségünk van könyvekre és természetesen folyóiratokra.

         Az alábbiakban megadjuk a KLTE Matematikai és Informatikai Intézet könyvtárában található idetartozó könyvek. Ezt azért tesszük, mert nem biztos, hogy minden olvasó használhatja az internetet. Természetesen ezek az információk megszerezhetők a KLTE Könyvtár lekérdező rendszerével is:

3.4   Fontosabb folyóiratok

         Sajnos Magyarországon a legjobb folyóiratok nem találhatók. A cikkek figyelését pl. az elektronikus tartalomjegyzékkel végezhetjük. Ez akkor kivitelezhető, ha tudjuk, hogy melyik kiadó jelenteti meg a cikket. Felkeressük a honlapját, kikeressük az érintett folyóiratot, majd a szerzőtől e-mail-en kérünk különlenyomatot, ha tudjuk a címet. Ha nem, akkor az internet keresőrendszerével megpróbáljuk megtalálni. Ha szerencsénk van, akkor megy az eljárás, ha nem, akkor valamelyik külföldi ismerősünket megkérjük, hogy szerezzen másolatot. Természetesen a kicsit hosszadalmasabb könyvtárközi kéréssel is beszerezhetjük az anyagot.

         Az alábbi folyóiratok kimondottan a sorbanállási elmélettel és alkalmazásaival foglalkoznak. Azonban nagyon sok más periodikát találhatunk, amelyben sok ezzel kapcsolatos cikk jelenik meg, pl. operációkutatás, telekommunikáció, sztochasztikus folyamatok, számítógéprendszerek, megbízhatóságelmélet, stb. Ezekre most részletesen nem térünk ki. Megkereshetők a később közölt címeknél.
